Muzaffarpur: A two-day training programme on vaccine management organised under the aegis of UNDP got underway at Muzaffarpur on November 21. It was inaugurated by Commissioner, Tirhut division, Atul Prasad, and Muzaffarpur DM Dharmendra Singh. Both the officials said that such training programme is necessary to increase the effectiveness of vaccine and was in the interest of the children.

Commissioner Prasad  stressed on creating awareness about importance of vaccine saying many people in rural area still do not get their kids vaccinated against different diseases due to lack of information. DM Singh said that one lakh children will be vaccinated against in the district in the first phase at different primary centres(PHCs). Muzaffarpur Civil Surgeon Lalita Singh,  divisional representative, UNDP, Manoj Narayan, district representative, UNDP, Ajay Kumar, district immunisation officer Dr Shivshankar were prominent among those present on the occasion.
