Two children drown to death in pond at Sitamarhi village

Sitamarhi : Two children : Dipali Kumari,  7, and Rakesh Kumar, 12, both residents of village Gosaipur under Dumra police station in Sitamarhi district, drowned to death in a village pond on October 22, 2017, when they slipped into deep water while preparing Chhath Puja Ghat.

The villagers rushed to the pond to save them but could fish out only their bodies. The villagers blocked the Sitamarhi bound road for several hours that caused a lot of hardships to passengers. Block Development Officer (BDO), Dumra, Sanjay Sinha, and SHO Vikas Kumar Singh pacified the villagers after which they lifted the blockade.
