Nawada: Two bombs were thrown on Nawada residence of a cinema hall owner-cum-jeweller Santosh Bhattat 3.40 am on November  t24. The availability of CCTV footage of two unidentified miscreants hurling the bombs and the immediate intimation about the incident to it notwithstanding, police initially said it was crackers exploded by miscreants. A letter written in Hindi threatening to kill all the family members of cinema hall owner in future if he fails to pay Rs 50 lakh to them was recovered from the site. The signatory of the letter signed off with a vulgar abuse too. No one was hurt in the blast.

Bhatt had lodged an FIR on November 17, 2016, against three villagers alleging that they were attempting to forcibly capture his 5.5 acre land in nearby Shivdayal Bigha village as he observed that the three villagers were dumping mud on his land. When he objected to their illegal activity, the three villagers identified as Jitu Singh, Badri Singh and Satish Singh had warned him of dire consequences in the future. However, the local police did not pay any heed to his complaint.

Following the incident, citizens around the area especially dozen plus jewellers of the adjacent Sonarpati Road are in a state of panic at  failure of police to apprehend the culprits. Later, Nawada SDPO assured to arrest the culprits.
