Patna: Tightening their noose on the boozers during Prakashotsav, Police on January 4 morning arrested two devotees from Tent City from Patna Gandhi Maidan here on charge of boozing.  Both the arrested persons had boozed taking naadvantage of the large crowd and bottles of IMFL were recovered from their possession.

According to Patna Senior SP (SSP) Manu Maharaaj, one of the arrested persons was identified as Amandip Singh, a native of Bhatinda in Punjab. He said that police recovered two bottles of Macdowell whisky from his possession. One of the bottles is half while the other one is sealed, the SSP said adding that Singh had consumed half the liquor.

The SSP said that the other arrested person was identified as Hakam Singh (46), a native of Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. He said that police recovered one bottle of Legend Premium whisky from his possession. It seems that Hakam had also drunk half the bottle, he said.

The SSP said that Patna Police were keeping a hawk’s eye on such boozers during Prakashtosav and stern action would be taken against persons who dare booze during this pious occasion.
