Gopalganj: With the arrest of two persons, police on December 15 claimed to have cracked the case of cash loot from an employee of a private bank on Meerganj -Balesara road under Meerganj police station in Gopalganj district on December 12.

It may be mentioned here that armed criminals had intercepted one Subhash Prasad, an employee of Bandhan Bank, when he was returning after collecting dues and looted Rs 75,000 cash from him. The criminals had also assaulted when he resisted them..

Meerganj police station SHO B P Alok on Friday said that the arrested persons had been identified as Shambhu Singh, a native of village Bara Haata under Uchakagaon police station, and Manish Yadav, a native of village Bhagvanpur under Meerganj police station. He said that police also recovered looted Rs 27,000 cash, a pistol, two live cartridges, a knife used in the crime and helmet of the employee that was snatched by the criminals.
