Patna: With the arrest of two persons, Patna Police on January 27 claimed to have solved the case of theft at the house of a CISF assistant commandant on January 21 night in Patliputra Colony. Police also recovered a pistol, five cartridges, a laptop, one LED TV and gold ornaments and silver coins, said Patna senior SP (SSP) Mannu Maharaaj here on Friday.

Police said that unidentified thieves had stolen valuables from the house of a CISF assistant commandant on January 21 night. An FIR was lodged with the Patliputra Colony police in this connection. SSP directed DSP (Law & Order) and Patliputra police station SHO Sanjeev Jha to crack the case and also asked them to see the CCTV footage.

A police team started started scientific investigation into the case after seeing the CCTV after seeing the CCTV footages. After collecting information, police team zeroed in on one Umashankar Verma. A police team arrested Umashankar and he revealed that one Arjun Mahto was also involved in the theft, who was also arrested by police. Acting on the revelations made by the duo, a police team reached Lakhisarai and with the assistance of local police recovered stolen valuables from Ganga Jewellers, Pachna Road in Lakhisarai.

Acting on the revelations made by the arrested persons, a police team recovered stolen laptop, few silver coins, an iron rod, a countrymade pistol besides five live cartridges from a vacant plot in Nehru Nagar. SSP said that the recovered laptop and silver coins were stolen from the house of one Shilpi Sinha and an FIR was lodged with the SK Puri police station in this connection.
