Jamui : A tribal couple was killed by some people at village Binjha under Chakai police station in Jamui district, for allegedly practicing witchcraft around 4 am on March 16, 2017, when they were returning home from somewhere. Binjha village is about 12 km away from Chakai police station. The deceased were identified as Yugal Soren, 55, and his wife Mungali Hembrum, 50, according to SHO, Chakai police station, Kapildev Prasad. He said the assailants slit their throat to kill them.
The SHO said that a named FIR had been lodged against nine persons of the village in this connection. Replying to query, the SHO said that none of the accused had been arrested so far as police were awaiting post-mortem report. He, however, said the accused would be arrested by March 16 night. The couple is survived by a son and three daughters, the SHO said.
