Muzaffarpur  :Abhishek  Agrawal, a young  Cellphone  shopkeeper,  was  shot dead  by three unidentified motorcycle borne criminals on January 7, 2021, night, near B B Collegiate on Motijheel Road, Muzaffarpur  Town. The criminals also looted  Rs 1 lakh cash from his
possession.

Police rushed to the spot and Abhishek was taken to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur,  but the doctors there declared him brought dead.  SSP, Muzaffarpur, Jayant Kant, and  City SP Rajesh Kumar  reached at the place of occurrence immediately and  looked into CCTV footage of  different shops and spotted the criminals. Police are investigating the case  and  raids are being conducted to arrest the criminals.

On January 8, 2021, the  businessmen of the town collected on different roads and blocked them giving a call for Muzaffarpur bandh. All shops remained closed as the businessmen were demanding immediate arrest of the  assailants and compensation to the next of kin the deceased. They were protesting shouting slogans against rising crime including murders in Muzaffarpur Town.

According to  DSP Sadar  Ramnaresh Paswan, Abhishek Agrawal was returning to his residence in Motijheel locality with his brother  Aditya Agrawal on his bike.  As soon as he reached near B B Collegiate,  three  bike borne persons  overtook him and opened fire on  Abhishek Agrawal. The bullet hit  the head of Abhishek and he fell down on the road. The criminals then threw chilli powder into the eye of Abhishek and looted his bag containing Rs 1 lakh cash  and sped away towards Kalyani  Square.
