Raxaul :   The Indo-Nepal border  in Bihar  has been put on  high alert  after  the kidnapping of  Suresh Kedia , a business magnet  of Birgunj in Nepal  on the Thursday evening at Baghaban on Kalia-Mahagadhi road in Bara district in Nepal. Search operation  is on  in bordering areas of East Champaran  by
police and  each vehicle is being  searched  and examined  by the SSB and Police.East Champaran S P Jitendra Rana  said that  all the police stations along Indo-Nepal border have been  alerted.

Binod Sharma, DSP, Kaleya, in Bara district said  that  Suresh Kedia, member of renowned Kedia group of Birgunj,  was returning  from  Bariarpur  Garhi Mai temple  to Birgunj by his car. When he was approaching Baghaban, a Bolero  overtook his car  and  a group of armed criminals  opened fire on the car. They shot at  the driver of  Kedia  and dragged him out of the car. Kedia was abducted  and  forced to sit in
the Bolero which sped away towards  Indian border. DSP  Binod Sharma said that  they chased the Bolero but  in vain.

The Bara police said that this incident took place around 6.30 pm. Umesh Prasad Sah , the driver of the car of Kedia, who received bullet injuries on his temple, has been admitted to Narayani hospital at Birgunj by Kaleya police . Dr . C . Shah , the doctor attending him,  said hospital said the driver had sustained deep injury in
his head so unable to give any information to the police .

Pradip Kedia, president of Birgunj chamber of commerce  and elder brother of Suresh Kedia said that  he has demanded help from home minister of Nepal  to recover his brother. Although Pradeep Kedia denied having received any call from the kidnappers, sources said the criminals have demanded Rs  100 crore as ransom. The  Nepal police have claimed that Kedia would be recovered soon . The needle of suspicion  is moving
towards  a criminal gang of Patna  which was supported by Nepali criminals.
