Top maoist leader arrested in Giridih

Giridih : Police arrested a dreaded Maoist leader from Teliyabahiyar locality under Dumri police station areas in Giridih district  on Friday evening. The arrested Maoist leader identified as one Hussain Mian, son of Kaila Mian of the same locality was wanted in more than a dozen cases of Maoists attack across the region. Besides, he was allegedly involved in a big attack on police patrolling party in which two police constables were ambushed on June 25, 2000. Police said Hussain had been serving the Maoists since 2000.

Giridih SP AK Variar had information regarding Hussain’s possible movements in and around Teliyabahiyar. “Acting on a tip off, a team of senior police officials led by the Dumri SDPO AK Sinha, along with the Dumri PS in-charge and other police personnel reached the area and surrounded Hussain’s hideout at Teliyabahiyar,” Variar said.

“He along with about 60 other armed Maoists had on June 25, 2000, attacked a police party in which two police constables were killed near Teliayabahiyar forest areas,” said Giridih SP Variar.
