Banka : Two fake currency smugglers identified as Manoj Mandal and Vikash Mandal were arrested from Nathnagar locality under Lalmatia police station in Bhagalpur district in a raids conducted by the police on Saturday. Police also seized fake currency notes of the denomination of Rs 500 amounting to more than seventy thousand. Bhagalpur police also recovered a PAN card and an election commission’s voter ID from the possession of the arrested persons.
Both the arrested persons are close relatives, said sources adding Manoj Mandal is a native village Buddhuchak of Kahalgaon (Bhagalpur) and Vikash Mandal lives in Kaliachak village under Mohabatpur police station in Malda district in West Bengal. Bhagalpur SSP Manoj Kumar said that the fake currency smugglers were arrested after the police received information about some persons trying to circulate fake currencies in Nathnagar locality.
