Bhagalpur : Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University (TMBU) on March 20, 2017, cancelled the Law degree of former Delhi Law minister Jitendra Singh Tomar.  A decision  to this effect was taken unanimously by TMBU Senate on March 20, 2017, according to VC Kshamendra Kumar Singh.

The VC said earlier the TMBU Syndicate had recommended cancellation of Tomar’s Law degree and the same was sent to Chancellor’s Secretariat. But, the Chancellor returned the file to the university saying the TMBU Senate was capable of taking a final decision on the matter, VC Singh said. He said that out of 134 members, over members attended the Senate meeting. The TMBU VC said that Tomar did LLB from Bishwanath Singh Institute of Legal Studies, Munger, an institute affiliated to TMBU. Tomar did LLB in 1999 but formally obtained his Law degree from the university in 2012, VC Singh said.
