Bagaha : A three year old girl was allegedly raped by a neighbour and an Intermediate student Sumit Chaudhary, son of Amarjit Chaudhary of village Narawal-Borawal, a panchayat, under Pathakauli police outpost in Bagaha police district on August 16, 2018. The girl was alone swinging on a Jhula at her home when Sumit Chaudhary bargad into her house and took her to his house and raped her. When Danouti Devi, mother of the minor girl, started searching for her daughter she heard her cry and rushed there and rescued her.
The matter was reported to Pathakauli police outpost incharge Rajesh Kumar. He reached the spot to inquire into the incident. The accused is absconding. The victim was sent to MJK district hospital, Bettiah, for medical examination. Danauti Devi lodged a case under various section of Protection of Child from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, SC/ST Act and section 376 of the IPC. Police have detained Sumit’s father Amarjit Chaudhary for interrogation.
