Ara: Three persons drowned to death when a speeding car they were travelling by fell into a river from Gataria bridge under Piro police station on Ara- Sasaram main road in Bhojpur district on October 11. Bodies were fished out with the help of divers four hours after the accident and brought over to Ara Sadar Hospital for post- mortem.
The deceased were identified as Ranjit Kumar Mishra alias Raju Mishra, son of Shiv Muni Mishra of Kasap village under Udwantnagar police station in Bhojpur district, Arjun Singh, son of Sampat Singh of Rohtas district, and Sumant Kumar Singh, son of Mahendra Singh of Dharauli village in Chandauli district, Utter Pradesh. Arjun was a police personnel posted at Kaithi in Rohtas district.
A marriage party was arranged in a hotel at Ara on October 10 and the three had come to attend it. After the function, they were returning on Tuesday. When they reached the Gataria bridge under Piro police station on Ara – Sasaram main road the driver lost control over the steering and the car fell into the river. The impact of the accident can be gauged from the fact the car broke into two halves and its engine was found 200 metre away in the water from the accident site.
