Three Chhath ghats declared dangerous at Bagaha

Bagaha : Of the 80 Chhath ghats under seven blocks of Bagaha Sub- Division in West Champaran district, three ghats out of ten ghats under Bagaha, Nagar Parishad, have been declared dangerous due to steep deep water.

Nagar Parishad, Bagaha, on the direction of the local administration, is barricading all the three dangerous ghats located on the bank of river Gandak. On other Chhath ghats on the bank of Gandak and other rivers, divers and static police would be deployed to prevent any untoward incident.

SP, Bagaha, Arbind Kumar Gupta and SDM, Bagaha, Dharmendra Kumar, jointly inspected different Chhath ghats under the sub-division on October 20, 2017, and issued necessary directions to the Nagar Parishad authorities to clean them  and make adequate security arrangement in and around the ghats.The SDM said that 80 magistrates would be deployed including Block Development Officers (BDOs), Circle Officers (COs) and engineers at Chhath ghats from October 26 evening till October 27 morning. The SDM said that licence would be mandatory for using loudspeakers at Chhath ghats.
