Ara : After a named FIR was lodged with Town police station, Ara, in connection with murder of one Anil Singh, 48, a farmer, at village Majhaua under the police station in Bhojpur district recently, police arrested his wife Shilpa Devi, mother-in-law Arti Devi and brother-in-law (wife’s brother) Santosh alias Ankit and sent them to Ara jail under judicial custody on March 23, 2018.

SHO, Town police station, said that Anil Singh, son of Bhuwaneshwar Singh of village Kaithi under Kachchhawa police station in Rohtas district, was married to Sheela Singh of village Kirahi village under Sakala police oupost in Rohtas district about 18 years ago and had a 17 year old son Santosh from her who lives with his grandparents at his native village.

After Sheela Singh’s death five year ago, Anil Singh married Shilpa Devi, daughter of Baban Singh of Suryapura in Rohtas district in July 2015, and had a 18 month old daughter Riya from her, the SHO said. Anil Singh lived with his second wife and daughter at a rented house at Majhaua village under Ara Town police station. On March 21, 2018, he was found dead at his house under mysterious circumstances. The SHO said that property dispute is said to be the reason behind the incident.
