Ara: Police arrested three persons in connection with the murder of a Ara businessman Sanjay Prasad alias Munna Sai within 24 hours of the incident and also seized a countrymade pistol and a blank cartridge on Sunday. The arrested persons were identified as Rabindra alias Nepali, his brother Sunny Kumar, sons of Ganga Prasad, a constable in the MMP posted at Ara, and brother-in-law of Rabindra. Sonu Kumar, another brother of Nepali who is said to have fired, is still absconding though.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that an electric mechanic Sonu Kumar shot dead a businessman Sanjay Prasad alias Munna Sai at the gate of his house at New Babu Bazaar, about 100 metre away from the Town Police Station, Ara, on Saturday morning over a trivial and fled away. A named FIR was lodged with Town Police Station against Rabindra alias Nepali, his brothers Sonu Kumar and Sunny Kumar of Sarathua village under Udwantnagar police station, and his brother-in-law Chandan Kumar. The trio lived in New Area Babu Bazaar under Town police station. Police arrested Chandan Kumar from Baghi Pakar village under Dhobaha police outpost on Saturday evening. On his revelation, police arrested Rabindra alias Nepali and Sunny Kumar from Karwa Bakari under Udwantnagar police station when they were sleeping at the roof of a house of their relative. Police recovered the pistol from a rented house at Baghawa Gali under Town police station where Sonu Kumar lived.

It may be mentioned here that Sanjay Prasad alias Munna Sai, a businessman of New Babu Bazaar area under Town police station, had given his ceiling fan to an electric mechanic, his neighbour, for overhauling about two months ago. On Friday evening, Munna Sai asked the mechanic as to why he had not completed the work so far. This led to heated exchange between the two followed by scuffle. Both of them slapped each other but the locals intervened and the matter ended there. On Saturday morning, the electric mechanics started hurling abusive language on Munna Sai and when he objected to it, the mechanic shot at him. Munna Sai died on spot.
