Ara: Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, granted provisional affiliation to four private BEd colleges at the meeting of affiliation committee of the university presided by Vice-Chancellor (VC), VKSU, Leela Chand Sah on Saturday. The affiliation to these colleges would be confirmed after the Syndicate approves it.

The VC said that four private B.Ed colleges: Dr Arvind Teachers’ Training College, Dularpur, G D Mishra Institute of Higher Education, Buxar, Dharikshan Singh Teachers’ Training College, Dularpur, and Sarvodaya BEd College, Shivsagar, Rohtas, were granted provisional affiliation at the meeting of affiliation committee of the university and added decision on giving affiliation to the remaining BEd colleges would be taken after the Patna High Court verdict. He said these four BEd colleges would participate at the joint entrance test for admission to BEd course to be conducted by the VKSU. These four colleges were already given recognition by the NCTE.

The VC said that the VKSU administration had announced date for the joint entrance test on July 13, 2016, but had to postpone it after private BEd college administrations moved to Patna High Court against the decision. The court has reserved its order after hearing.

The VC said that a committee has been formed to inquire into the details of 54 affiliated colleges under the VKSU and it would submit its report within a month. The VC said that affiliation to these colleges would be extended if the committee submits its report in their favour but if the report is negative, their affiliation might be cancelled. He said that a decision was taken to seek application from the affiliated colleges for extension of affiliation in December, 2015.
