Patna:  Patna Police on January 27 arrested three persons involved in looting belongings of Dr Oswald Anthony in Digha recently. Police recovered two looted cellphone and Rs 1,000 cash from the possession of the arrested persons, said Patna Senior SP (SSP) Mannu Maharaaj here on Friday.

Police said that on January 25, some criminals had accosted Dr Oswald Anthony near St Xaviers’ College under Digha police station and looted his valuables. The criminals had also cut a vein of Dr Anthony when he resisted them. An FIR was lodged with Digha police station in this connection.

Taking serious note of the incident, SSP directed DSP (law & order), Digha ps SHO Golden Kumar and Rajiv Nagar ps SHO Mritunjay Kumar to crack the case. The police came to know about the involvement of one Sonam  (name  changed) in the loot incident. The cops also came to know that Sonam was very close to Anthony family and  was also present on the spot during the time of the incident.

The cops interrogated Sonam and she told them that she in association with her boyfriend Afroz and his associate Monu carried out the loot. Police said that the arrested persons were identified as Mohd. Afroz, a native of Marshal Bazaar under Danapur ps, Mohd. Monu, a native of Nasriganj Paithan Toli under Danapur ps, and Sonam.
