Ara: Police, on a tip off, conducted raid in railway station road area under Nawada police station, Ara,  in Bhojpur district on Sunday and arrested three arms suppliers and also seized three countrymade pistols, six magazines, a knife, three mobiles and a motorcycle from their possession.

The arrested persons were identified as Dhani Singh,60, son of Baudhu Singh of village Arsaiya Bhelva  under Bariyarpur police station in Munger district, Piyush Pandey, 23, son of Akhilesh Pandey, and Bijay Bahadur Pandey, son of Suraj Pandey of village Sanjoyal under Krishnagarha police station in Bhojpur district.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh, talking to the mediapersons on Monday, said that he was informed that a person was carrying some firearms from Munger. He immediately formed a police team under ASP (operations) Md. Sajid. As Dhani Singh got down from a train on Sunday at Ara railway station, he contacted his associate at  Ara, Piyush Pandey and Bijay Bahadur Pandey. All the tree were on way to their destination when the police team intercepted them  near Durga temple outside the Ara railway station under Nawada police station and arrested them. Police searched them and seized three new countrymade pistols, six magazines, three mobiles and a motorcycle.

The SP  said that Dhani Singh had brought firearms from Munger at the request of one Deepak Singh of Nathamalpur village under Barahara police station who is lodged in Ara jail in connection with several tractor and vehicles loot cases. The SP added that during interrogation Dhani Singh told him that he brought the firearms from Tofir Diara located in the middle of the rivers Ganga and Gandak in Munger.
