Tension prevails in Kasab Tola & Ramgarhia localities under Ara Town PS after murder

Ara : Tension prevails in and around Kasab Tola and Ramgarhia localities under Ara Town police station in Bhojpur district following murder of Md Sonu alias Abdul Rahman, brother of a jailed dreaded criminal Khurshid Quraishi, on November 30, 2019, evening. The entire areas have been cordoned off and police are investigating into the incident.

Police have arrested one of the named accused Md Shoaib in this connection and sent him to jail after interrogation. They also seized 57 live cartridges including 7.65 and 9mm calibers and a countrymade pistol from the house of another named accused Mohd. Sohail. A named FIR was lodged with Ara Town police station against Md Suhail, Md Shabab alias Shoaib, Md Faiyaz alias Babloo, Chhotu alias Md Ameer, and three unknown persons in connection with the murder.

Abdulla Quraishi of Kasab Tola under Ara Town police station, brother of the deceased, said that he, Md Sonu, Raju and Babloo were going to Patna on two motorcycles to see their sister who had suffered burn injuries. When they reached near Ramgarhia, six motorcycle borne miscreants intercepted them and fired indiscriminately and shot dead Md Sonu, who was a pillion rider, and escaped.

It may be mentioned here that Md Imran, a businessman and brother of Md Suhail of Doodhkatora under Ara Town police station, was shot dead while his brother Vakil Mian and a BSNL employee Md Farooq were shot at and injured at Bichali Road about 50 meter away from Ara Town police station on December 16, 2018, for capturing a shop located at Shobha Market. A named FIR was lodged with Ara Town police station against nine persons including Khurshid Quraishi on the statement of Md Vakil.

The named accused frequently threatened Md Imran’s sister Shabnam Tara asking her to withdraw the case and  she had filed a named FIR against Chhotu alias Gundaraj, Shibu and others with Ara Town police station on February 14, 2019. Piqued at it, the miscreants shot dead Shabnam Tara on February 26, 2019, when she had gone to her sister for negotiating marriage of her brother and Khurshid Quraishi was made named accused in this murder. Later, police arrested eight of the named accused including Khurshid Quraishi. And they are still languishing in Ara jail. Md Sonu is youngest among eight brothers and his two brothers : Naushad Quraishi and Kayeen Quraishi were killed earlier. His eldest brother Aleem Quraishi is Councillor of Ward No 27

After the murder of Md Imran, police had provided security guard to his family members. The onlookers alleged said that the security guard was present along with the miscreants at the time the murder of Md Sonu on November 30, 2019, and had fled away from the spot leaving his motorcycle behind. Police seized the motorcycle of the guard.

ASP Ambrish Rahul said that the role of security guard in the murder of Md Sonu was being investigated and action would be taken against the security guard if he was found involved in the murder.
