Bhabhua: About a dozen frightened villagers of a particular community of village Sikadi under Bhabhua police station in Kaimur district have decided to leave the village and shift to some safer place. They have apprised Kaimur DM, SP, range DIG and even the state government of their decision. These villagers have alleged that some people of the village frequently torture and harass them at the village. Not only this, they have also socially boycotted them and even prevent from taking a dip in ponds and river.
Though some social workers of the village tried to pacify them saying that they should have faith in the district administration and the officials would provide them security but they have stuck to their decision. After the murder of Satvant Singh of village Sikadi on February, 1, 2016, some miscreants killed a labourer Farid Mansuri of the same village recently after which tension prevails at the village.
Kaimur DM Rajeshwar Prasad Singh said that some residents of Sakadi village wanted to see him but he could not meet them as he was busy in some court cases. The DM also said that he had not received any application from the aggrieved villagers so far.
Kaimur SP Harpreet Kaur said that some people of village Sakadi hadmet her and vent their grievances. She said that three persons have so far been arrested in connection with murder of Farid Mansuri and Ishtehars’ have been pasted on the houses of the rest of the accused by the order of the court. She said police force had been deployed at Sakadi to maintain law and order and a proposal has been sent to the government for opening of a police chowki there.
