Begusarai : Police have cracked the incidents of loot and murder at Lakho and Hardia in Begusarai district on May 23 and May 26, 2017, respectively by arresting all the nine criminals including Raja Sahni and Saurabh Thakur involved in the crime.
Begusarai SP Ranjit Kumar Mishra on May 31, 2017, said that while four criminals were arrested on May 27 another three were arrested on May 29. SP Mishra said that Raja Sahni and Saurabh Thakur, both notorious criminals belonging to Begusarai district, were arrested at 4 am on May 31 from a riverine area under Chiraiya police outpost in Saharsa district.
SP Mishra said that during their interrogation at Begusarai after their arrest in Saharsa, Raja Sahni and Saurabh Thakur revealed that one person better known as doctor of Samastipur used to give them shelter and that the gang was planning to loot cash from a Punjab National Bank branch in Samastipur district. Police have arrested that doctor too from Mehdi in Samastipur district with three pistols and live rounds and he was being brought over to Begusarai, the SP said adding he was not sure whether he is known as doctor or is really a doctor by profession.
The SP said that in the Hardia incident under Begusarai Mufassil police station the criminals had shot dead the petrolpump owner Laxmi Narain alias Chhotu, a resident of Patna, while in the Lakho incident a petrol pump staff was killed. The SP said that very small amount was looted in the two incidents.
