Patna : With RJD chief Lalu Prasad occupied with fodder scam cases visting Ranchi frequently, his younger son and former Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav has decided to embark on a two-day ` Janadesh Apmant Yatra’ starting on August 9, 2017, from Motihari, district headquarters of of East Champaran, to target JD (U) President and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar for forming government with the BJP breaking the Grand Alliance (GA).

TheĀ  GA comprising JD(U), RJD and Congress was voted to power with a huge mandate in November 2015 Bihar assembly polls. However, Nitish Kumar resigned as the GA chief minister on July 26, 2017, and formed government with the NDA on July 27 after the RJD chief refused to ask Tejaswi to resign from the post of Deputy Chief Minister after CBI made him an accused in land for hotel scam on July 5, 2017, and carried out a search operation at his Patna residence on July 7 besides quizzing him.

Tejaswi will visit five districts: East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi and Muzaffarpur, on August 9 and 10 targeting Nitish for breaking the GA besides urging the people to attend RJD’s August 27, 2017, rally at Patna.

Meanwhile, former JD(U) president Sharad Yadav, a Rajya Sabha member from Bihar, too is unhappy with Nitish’s decision to form government with the NDA. He is holding a meeting in Delhi on August 17 to discuss the political situation in the country. The JD(U), on the other hand, is holding the meeting of its national executive at Patna on August 19. Nitish had recently said that the state unit of the party had favoured formation of the government with NDA.
