Teenage girl lodges FIR against parents, uncle for attempting to kill her

Ara : A case of attempt to honour killing came out of closest after a teenage girl lodged a named FIR with Sahar police station in Bhojpur District against her parents : Sudarshan Mishtri and Suminta Devi, and uncle (Fufa) Suman Mistri on January 8, 2020, evening. Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the accused.

SHO, Sahar police station, Manindra Kumar, quoting the FIR, said that one Raju Paswan of village Era under Shakuradad police station in Jehanabad district allegedly teased a teenage girl of the village, daughter Sudarshan Mistri,a bout a month ago when she had gone to his house to drink water. When she narrated the story to her family members they sent her to her uncle (Fufa) Suman Mistri at village Etwarpur in Patna district about 20 days ago fearing social stigma.

On January 7, 2020, her parents went to Etwarpur and too along with her Fufa Suman Mistri apparently to bring her back to village Era aon the pretext of her marriage.  But they reached Arwal instead where her parents deserted her asking her to stay with her Fufa Suman Mistri, who allegedly threw her into river Sone and escaped from there. The girl somehow swam to safety and reached Sahar on January 8, 2020, and started crying, Hearing her cry, the villagers rushed her to Primary Health Centre at Sahar and informed Shakurabad police station but they did not respond. Later, SHO, Sahar police station, Manindra Kumar, arrived at the hospital and registered a named FIR on the statement of the girl.

The SHO produced the girl before an Ara Court on January 9, 2020, to get her statement registered under Section 164 of CrPC.
