Ara : A teenage girl from weaker of the society was gangraped at Dalit Tola under Dhangai police station in Bhojpur district on October 7, 2018, evening, when she had gone to the field to attend call of nature. Police brought her over to the Sadar Hospital, Ara, for medical examination and will produce her before the court to get her statement recorded under Section 164 of CrPC. A named FIR was lodged with Dhangai police station but no arrest has so far been made in this connection.
SHO, Dhangai police station, said that a teenage girl, a student of class VIII, had gone to the field along with her friend and niece to attend call of nature at Dalit Tola on October 7 late evening. On way, three miscreants of the village caught her and took her to a secluded place where they outraged her modesty one by one threatening her with dire consequences. They also threatened her to kill her family members if she dared say anything to them regarding the incident and escaped from the scene. Her friend and niece narrated the ordeals before her family members.
The incident took a political colour when a team of CPI(ML) led by Ajit Kushwaha visited the Dalit Tola on October 8. The CPI(ML) leader demanded immediate arrest of the accused.
