Patna : World Nu 10 in Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings Saina Nehwal, 28, India, lost to World No 1 Tai Tzu Ying, 24, Chinese Taipei, in women’s badminton singles semi-finals at the 18th Asian Games at Jakarta -Palembang, Indonesia, on August 27, 2018, and settled for a Bronze Medal. It was India’s first medal in the event in 36 years. Ying beat Saina in straight games 21-17, 21-14 to enter the singles final. Ying had won Bronze Medal at 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, South Korea.
Saina had won Gold Medal at Commonwealth Games 2018 at Gold Coast, Australia, beating P V Sindhu, 23, India, in the final.
