Patna : Sprint star Dutee Chand, 22, India, won Silver Medal in 100m women’s final race at the 18th Asian Games at Jakarta-  Palembang, Indonesia, on August 26, 2018. Dutee clocked 11.32s to clinch the Silver Medal in the 100m event. Bahrain’s Edidiong won Gold Medal in the event. Dutee was just 0.02 second behind Edidiong. She had qualified for the final clocking 11.43s.

It was India’ first medal in the event in 20 years. Dutee Chand belongs to Jajpur district in Odisha and is the current national champion in 100m event.
