Tai Tzu & Carolina to clash in Victor China Open final

Patna : Second seed Tai Tzu Ying, 25, Taiwan, and unseeded Carolina Marin, 26, the reigning Olympic Champion, will clash in the women’s singles final of Victor China Open, an HSBC  BWF World Tour Super 1,000 event, at Changzhou, China, on September 22, 2019.

Tai Tzu edged past 3rd seed and World No 2 Chen Yu Fei, China, in three games 6-21, 21-13, 22-20 in 54 minutes coming from behind in semi-finals at Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Changzhou, China, on September 21, 2019. Tai Tzu won 49 rallies in the match to 54 by reigning All England Open Champion Yu Fei. She won 6 consecutive points in the match to 7 by Yu Fei. Tai Tzu now leads Yu Fei 13-1 Head to Head.

Carolina, a three-time former World Champion who who has returned from long injury lay off, beat World No 16 Sakaya Takahashi, 27, Japan,  in a three-game slugfest lasting 72 minutes in the semi-finals on September 21. Carolina beat Takahashi 20-22, 21-13, 21-18 coming from behind in the SFs. Carolina won 62 rallies in the match to 53 by Takahashi. She won 8 consecutive points in the match to 6 by the Japanese. Carolina now leads Takahashi 5-1 Head to Head.
