SVU raids 3 premises of SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar

Muzaffarpur : The Special Vigilance Unit (SVU), Bihar Police, on April 16, 2018, conducted raid on three premises of SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar, a 2007 batch Bihar cadre IPS officer, following corruption charges levelled against him. Vivek Kumar is SSP, Muzaffarpur, since April 8, 2016. The raid at Muzaffarpur began at 1 pm on April 16 under the leadership of IG, SVU, Ranta Sanjay accompanied by two SP rank officials.

The three premises included the officail residence of SSP Kumar at Muzaffarpur and his Saharanpur, UP, house. Neither IG, SVU, nor SSP, Muzaffarpur, Vivek Kumar could be contacted on telephone. The SVU team has seized some documents during the raid.

It may be mentioned here that the SVU had also conducted raids on the premises of an IAS officer Deepak Anand in January 2018 while the CBI had conducted raids on the premises of the then Aurangabad DM Kanwal Tanuj in February 2018.
