Patna: Suspended RJD MLA from Nawada,Raj Ballabh Prasad Yadav, who was released on bail last week in a rape case, called on the party president Lalu Prasad and deputy chief minister Tejeshwi Yadav at 10, Circular Road, on Thursday morning.
Raj Ballabh was arrested on March 10 by Nalanda police following investigations by central range DIG Shaleen, who had ordered MLA’s arrest. A  minor girl had filed an FIR against the ruling party legislator on February 6 alleging she was raped by the lawmaker.
After coming out of Lalu’s residence, the MLA said he had come to meet his party chief and seek his blessings on Durga Puja festival. He denied having sought any assistance from RJD president and said neither Lalu nor CM Nitish Kumar can help him. Even Nitish can’t come to his aid as the matter is sub- judice.
Unlike another RJD leader Mohammad Shahbuddin, Raj Ballabh was soft on Nitish and said he has no grievance against the chief minister. Nitish did not go in appeal to Supreme Court against Patna high court order granting him (Yadav) bail but under the legal system, the state government appealed in the Apex court.
Raj Ballabh claimed charges against him were baseless. Raj Ballabh, who had evaded police for more than a month, said he has no complaint against the party president who had suspended him following his arrest.
The Deputy CM told waiting mediapersons that the Nawada LA was with the former CM for two hours. He did not make any comment on Raj Ballabh affair claiming it was pending before the court.
Former deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi has alleged Raj Ballabh was one of the financers of Lalu Prasad and claimed during the hearing of his bail petition in Patna high court, the government lawyer did not press for rejection of the bail petition rather said the government has no objection if the MLA was released on bail.
