Patna: The suspended JD(U) MLC Manorama Devi was on Monday granted bail by vacation bench of Patna High Court. She was in judicial custody following recovery of six bottles of India made foreign liquor from her house last month. She is mother of Rocky Yadav, a student, who had killed Aditya Sachdeva in a road rage case in Gaya town.
The court allowed her bail by observing that the newly introduced Bihar excise Act did not prohibit possession of liquor. It talked of manufacture, consumption and trade of liquor as illegal. She was not at her house when search was conducted by the police and excise officials, the court said.
