Patna : The supporters of BJP Rajya Sabha Member RK Sinha and party’s Patna Saheb candidate and Union Minister Ravishankar Prasad clashed at Patna Airport on March 26, 2019, with both the sides exchanging expletives as well as blows. The situation took such an ugly turn that CISF jawans manning the Airport had to intervene to control the situation.
Union minister Ravishankar Prasad landed at Patna Airport on March 26 afternoon. A large number of his supporters had gathered
there. As Prasad came out of the Airport, his supporters gave him a warm welcome and raised slogans in his favour. In the meantime, incensed over denial of ticket to R K Sinha, his supporters reached Patna Airport and showed black flags to Prasad describing him as `hawa hawai’ leader. This infuriated Prasad’s supporters, who had scuffle with Sinha’s supporters. Both the sides had heated exchange and allegedly even hurled sandals at each other.
According to Sinha’s supporters, the party has given ticket to a candidate, who has done nothing for Patna. They said that Prasad has not contributed to development of state capital at all. However, Ravishankar Prasad said that he has no information about any such incident. He said that every party worker is with him.
The incident, however, gave an opportunity to opposition leaders to target BJP. Senior Congress leader Premchandra Mishra said that the situation in BJP is such that workers are getting involved in brawl.
