Ara : The members of All India Students’ Association (AISA) and students of Government Ambedkar Residential Girl High School, Ara, staged a day long dharana at the gate of the school and paralysed movement of traffic on February 12, 2017, in protest against death of Nitu Kumari, a class X student of the school, for want of proper mediocre. They were demanding Rs 10 lakh as compensation and a government job to a family member of the deceased.
DDC Inayat Khan, SDO Navdeep Shukla and other officials of the district tried to remove the blockade but the agitating students insisted on a written assurance. At last the officials gave written assurance to fulfil their demands after which the blockade was lifted.
Nitu Singh, a class X student of Government Ambedkar Residential Girls High School located on the campus of Zila School, Ara, died for want of medicare on February 11, 2017. She was a resident of village Dhansoi in Buxar district and daughter of Zamuna Ram.
Nitu Sinjgh was suffering some ailments for the last four days and was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital on February 10 but she was discharged in the late evening the same day. But, she again complained of giddiness and vomiting tendency on February 11 morning but the school administration did not think it necessary to take her to the hospital and she died in the evening.
