Student thrashed by school teacher in Bhojpur, admitted to hospital

Ara : An incident of beating and injuring a school student allegedly by Headmaster of a school at village Bhakura under Ara Muffassil police station in Bhojpur district on February 23, 2018, has come to light. The injured student has been admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital. SHO, Ara Muffassil police station, said that police were investigating into the matter.

Prem Kumar Ojha, a CRPF personnel posted at Tripura and a resident of village Chatar  under Barahara police station, alleged that his son Amitesh Kumar Ojha, a student of Class 7 at Royal English School, Bhakura, under Ara Muffassil police station, was on February 23 mercilessly beaten up by a teacher of the school with a stick till he fell unconscious. Later, he was admitted to Ara Sadar Hospital for treatment. Several bruises were seen on his bodies and the boy is so fear stricken that he is unable to say anything at the hospital.

The Headmaster of the school could not be contacted despite several attempts for his comment on the issue. Amitesh Kumar Ojha said that the teacher beat him for no fault of his.

Chairperson, Child Protection Unit, Sunita Singh, has taken serious note of the incident and said that a school student had complained to the Headmaster of the School Shiv Kumar Rai that Amitesh Kumar Ojha pricked him with a pencil and a drop of blood came out of his hand. Seeing the blood drop, the Headmaster lost his temper and thrashed Amitesh Kumar Ojha till he fell unconscious. Later, the Headmaster escaped from the school.

Chairperson, Child Protection Unit, Sunita Singh, said that she has directed the school administration to come to her office with all the papers and documents of the school for verification. She  said that the school is being run by an NGO.
