Stone mafia attacks police in Rohtas, takes back seized tractor

Sasaram: Stones mafia attacked police and freed a tractor loaded with stonechips from police custody at Bhaisadih bridge under Indrapuri police station in Dehari-on-Sone in Rohtas district on Sunday evening. An FIR was lodged with Indrapuri police station against the stone mafia and the police are on prowl to arrest them.

SHO, Indrapuri police station, Pankaj Saini said that an SI Lalji Prasad along with police force was going to arrest some miscreants. On way, he saw a tractor near Bhaisadih bridge loaded with stonechips going towards Indrapuri. He seized it and asked a police constable Haridwar Tiwari to take the tractor to the police station. When Haridwar Tiwari was taking the tractor to the police station, about a dozen members of stone mafia attacked and thrashed Haridwar Tiwari. When he protested, the miscreants also damaged the motorcycle of the SI. Later, the miscreants freed the seized tractor and carried it with them. The SHO said that tractor belonged to Sanjay Yadav of Rudrapur.
