Steve Johnson enters QFs of ATP Lyon Open

Patna : World No 59 Steve Johnson, 29, USA, entered the quarter-finals of ATP Lyon Open at Lyon in France on May 21, while World No 50 Pablo Cuevas, 33, Uruguay, and World No 51 Benoit Paire, 30, France, advanced to the Round of 16.

Johnson beat World No 42 Pierre-Hugues Herbert, 28, France, 7-6, 5-7, 6-1 in the Round of 16. Johnson broke Herbert’s service 4 times in the match while the latter broke But, Paire won 7 games in a row in the match to 3 by McDonald.

Cuevas beat World No 43 Hubert Hurkacz, Poland, 22, 6-4, 6-4 to reach Round of 16. Cuevas broke Hurkacz’ service twice in the match besides winning 3 games in a row. Cuevas served 3 Aces in the match to 4 by Hurkacz. Cuevas will face Paire in the Round of 16.
