State varsities asked to set up `Grievance Redressal Cell’

Patna: In a circular addressed to Vice- Chancellors(VCs), pro- VCs and Registrars of all the universities in the state, the governor’s secretariat has directed them to make their respective Grievance Redressal Cell proactive and result oriented.

The circular says that the all the universities were earlier directed by the governor’s secretariat to set up `Pension Cell’ for quick disposal of pension and retiral benefit cases of teachers and non-teaching employees  and `Students Welfare Cell’ to tackle matters related o students’ welfare. But, the governor’s secretariat was still receiving applications relating to such matters in very large number, the circular says.

The governor’s secretariat, in a fresh directive, has asked all the universities to set up a `Grievance redressal Cell’. The universities have been asked to register all the complaints and after due consideration issue appropriate order in a fixed period. The people dissatisfied with such order can appeal or submit review petition before the Chancellor.
