Bhabhua: Education Department will realise Rs 5.5 lakh meant for the Midday Meal (MDM) from Headmasters of 10 Primary and Middle Schools in Kaimur district.
The Headmasters of these schholshad drawn additional fund for the MDM. The brak up is: Rs 38,623 by Primary School, Kotamdag, Rs 76,048 by Primary School, Baghota, Rs 57,336 by Upgraded Middle School, Sarodag, Rs. 11,164 by Upgraded Middle School, Gaura, Rs, 19087 by Primary School, Saraila, Rs 37,114 by Upgraded Middle School, Bairi, Rs 89,664 by Upgraded Middle School, Pateri, Rs 1,25,354 by Middle School, Bahuara, Rs 17.938 by Upgraded Middle School, Didikhili, and Rs 78,017 by Middle School, Mukhrao.
On the direction of Kaimur DM Rajeshwar Prasad, the education department has launched ‘Mission Jagriti Abhiyan’ to examine the quality of the MDM and also quality of education in schools under different blocks in Kaimur district. During this campaign, cases of withdrawal of fund for the MDM showing extra number of students in schools by the Headmasters of the schools concerned came to light. And so the education department has decided to realise about Rs 5.50 lakh from the recalcitrant Headmasters.
The District Programme Officer (Establishment) had earlier directed these Headmasters to deposit about Rs 5.5 lakh but to no avail. The DPO has once again directed them to deposit the amount within a week failing which legal action would be taken against them.
