Bagaha: The Jawans of 21st Battalion of Shashara Seema Bal (SSB), Bagaha, deployed at Border Outpost(BOP), Chakadahawa, seized 900 bottles of Nepali liquor near Rohua Nala (drain) on Indo-Nepal border on March 1, 2018, early morning, when they were getting ready for round the clock surveillance of anti- social elements. They saw a gang of liquor smugglers carrying bottles of liquor on three bicycles. On seeing the SSB jawans, the smugglers ran towards dense Bherihari forest leaving liquor bottles and their bicycles behind.
Deputy Commandant, SSB, Nagmani Singh, said that the seized liquor worth Rs 6.37 lakh was handed over to Valmikinagar police station in Bagaha police district for necessary action.
Meanwhile, West Champaran DM Nilesh Ramchandra Deore held an urgent meeting at Bettiah with administrative and police officials on March 1, 2018, and asked them to keep a close watch on sensitive places and prevent smuggling of liquor into any area.
