Bettiah : Jawans of SSB, 44th Battalion, Narakatiaganj in West Champaran district, deployed at Inarawa border out post(BOP), seized 54 kg of contraband Charas from a Tata Indica near village Basarauli on Sathi road under Shikarpur police station on July 16, 2017, night.
Deputy Commandant, SSB, Ajay Kumar Rajak, said that the smuggler managed to escape taking advantage of the darkness leaving behind Charas and the vehicle. The value of Charas in international market has been estimated at Rs 8.7 crore. Rajak said that seized materials were handed over to Customs office, Bettiah.
According to another report. Jawans of SSB, 21st Battalion, Bagaha,in a joint operation with Valmikinagar forest staff on July 16 night seized 5 logs of costly wood from Karmabari but the smuggler managed to escape in the dense forest, said Deputy Commandant, SSB, Bagaha, Nagamani.Singh.
