SSB Jawan seize Black Pepper, Nepali Pea worth Rs 16.62 lakh in Bagaha

Bagaha : Sashasta Seema  Bal (SSB) Jawans  deployed  at Jhandu Nalla under Valmikinagar police station in Bagaha police district on July 31, 2019, night, seized about 17.75 quintals of  Nepali Pea and 22.57 quintals of Black Pepper worth Rs 16.62 lakh from Sadhughat.

SSB Sub-Inspector (SI) Mahendra  Singh said that a gang of smugglers carrying these goods on a country boat was crossing  river Gandak from Nepal side. When they found themselves surrounded by the SSB Jawans, they fled away under the cover of darkness leaving behind the goods they were carrying The SSB team seized these item on the direction of Commandant, 21st Battalion, Lalaram Mehata. The seized goods will be handed over to the Customs Office, Bettiah, headquarters of West Champaran District, SI,  SSB, said.
