Srikanth enters 2nd round of BWF World Championships

Patna : Kidambi Srikanth, 26, India, entered the second round of BWF World Championships at St Jakobshalle, Basel, Switzerland, on August 19, 2019, night. World No 10 and 7th seed Srikanth beat World No 81 Nhat Nguyen, Israel,  17-21, 21-16, 21-6 in 67 minutes coming from behind.

Srikanth won 59 rallies to 43 by Nhat in the match. He won 11 consecutive points to 5 by Nhat. Srikanth now leads Nhat 2-0 Head to Head.

World No 30 H S Prannoy, India, will face five-time former World Champion and twice Olympic Gold Medallist Lin Dan, 35, China, also known as Super Dan, the second round on August 20, 2019. World No 19 and 16th seed Sai Praneeth will face World No 39 Leo Dong Keun, South Korea, in the 2nd round.
