Patna : Sri Lanka (SL) were 131/4 after 48 overs in their first innings in second session of the play on Day 1 in the 1st test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on December 11, 2019, with Angelo Mathews batting on 9 and Dhananjaya de Silva batting on 2. Pakistan is hosting a test match after a gap of ten years.
Opting to bat after winning the toss, Sri Lanka lost their first wicket at 96 when captain Dinresh Karunaratne fell to fast bowler Shaheen Afridi for 59 in 110 balls with 9 fours. His opening partner Oshada Fernando fell to fast bowler Naseem Shah, 16, for 40 in 81 balls with 6 fours and a six making it 109/2. Karunaratne and Fernando added 96 runs for the first wicket. Kusal Mendis fell to fast medium bowler Usman Shinwari for 10 making it 120/3. It was Shinwari’s miden test wicket. Dinesh Chandimal fell to fast bowler Mohammad Abbas for 2 and it was 127/4.
