Patna : Electing to bat after winning the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) scored just 115/8 in 20 overs against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 49th match of IPL at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai, UAE, on October 3, 2021, with Tim Southee, Shivam Mavi, and spinner Varun Charavarthy taking two wickets.

SRH had a terrible start with opener Wriddhiman Saha getting out with only 1 run on board. Saha fell to medium fast bowler Tim Southee for zero on the first ball he face making it 1/1. His opening partner Jason Roy fell to fast medium bowler Shivam Mavi for 10 and it was 16/2. Captain Kane Williamson was run out for 26 in 21 balls with 4 fours and it was 38/3. Williamson hit Mavi for 4 fours in his third over.

Abhishek Sharma fell to spinner Shakib Al Hasan for 6 making it 51/4. Priyam Garg fell to spinner Varun Charavarthy for 21 in 31 balls hitting 1 six and it was 70/5. All-rounder Jason Holder fell to Varun for 2 making it 80/6. Abdul Samad fell to Southee for 25 in 18 balls hitting 3 sixes and it was 95/7. Spinner Rashid Khan fell to Mavi for 8 making it 103/8. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddharth Kaul remained unbeaten on 7 runs each.
