SRH beat RCB by 5 runs IPL at Hyderabad

Patna : Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 5 runs in the 39th match of IPL 2018 at Rajiv Gandhi Inernational Stadium, Hyderabad, on May 7 riding on superb bowling by their bowlers particularly spinners Rashid han, Afghanistan, Shakib Al Hasan, and pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Shakib Al Hasan took 2/36 including the wicket of RCB captain Virat Kohli. SRH thus defended their small total in yet another match in IPL 2018. SRH skipper Kane Willimson was declared Player of the Match.

RCB had won toss but opted to bowl. SRH were all out for 146 in 20 overs thanks to 56 in 39 ball with 5 fours and 2 sixes by captain Kane Williamson and 35 in 32 ball with 5 fours by allrounder Shakib Al Hasan. For RCB, pacers Mohammad Siraj and Tim Southee, New Zealand, took three wickets each.

But, RCB could score only 141/6 in 20 overs even as captain Virat Kohli made 39 in 30 ball with 5 fours and a six and Colin de Grandhomme, New Zealand, made 33 with a four and 2 sixes. Opeer Parthiv Patel, wicketkeeper, made 20 while Mandeep Singh remained unbeaten on 21 in 23 ball with just one four. A B de Villiers was bowled by Rashid Khan for just 5 runs. RCB required 11 runs in the 20th over bowled by Bhuvaneshwar Kumar to win the match but they scored just 5 runs.

SRH have now 16 points from 10 matches in IPL 2018 while RCB has just 6 points from 10 matches having lost seven of them. CSK have 14 points from 10 matches.
