Nishikori, who had reached the final of ATP Monte Carlo Masters 1000 recently, put up a strong fight but Djokovic prevailed in straight sets.

World Number 50 Benoit Paire, France, stunned World Number 18 Lucas Pouille, France, the 15th seed, 6-2, 6-3, to enter the 3rd round.
