Patna : Spain beat Poland 2-1 in semi-final at Sydney, Australia, on January 7, 2022, to reach ATP Cup Finals. World No 19 Roberto Bautista Agut, 33, and World No 20 Pablo Carreno Busta, 30, won the two singles matches for Spain while Poland won the doubles match. Spain will face the winner of the second semi-final between defending champion Russia and Canada in the final. The second semi-final is scheduled for January 8, 2022.

World No 20 Busta brushed aside Jan Zielinski, Poland, 6-2, 6-1 in the first singles match in just 53 minutes winning 4 break points and 7 games in a row. Busta fired 7 Aces in the match to 2 by Zielinski.

World N 19 Agut beat World No 9 Hubert Hurkacz, 24, Poland, in a three-set thriller 7-6, 2-6, 7-6 in 2hr 44 minutes overcoming 24 Aces hammered by the Pole. Agut served just 1 Ace. Hurkacz won 3 break points in the match to just 1 by the Spaniard. Both the players 3 games each in a row. Agut,  however, won both the tie-breaks to clinch the match.

In the doubles match, the Polish pair of S Walkov & Jan Zielinski beat P Martinez & A Ramos-Vinolas, Spain, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
