Patna : With the surge in virus continuing at an alarming rate in the state, a total of 3,048 more persons tested positive in Bihar including 1,314 in Patna in last 24 hours, up from 2,379 cases registered a day before. The Active cases jumped to 8,489 in the state including 5,074 in Patna on January 7, 2022, up from 5,785 cases a day before. Bihar reported 2 new deaths due to Covid-19 in last 24 hours taking the toll to 12,100 in the state on January 7, 2022, including 2,792 in Patna. Both the new deaths were reported in Patna.
The 3,048 new Covid-19 cases included 1,314 in Patna, 293 in Gaya, 130 in Muzaffarpur, 99 in Katihar, 95 in Begusarai, 76 in Nalanda, 72 in Vaishali, 70 in Bhojpur, 67 in Sitamarhi, 62 in Bhagalpur, 61 in Saharsa, 56 in Madhubani, 55 in Jehanabad, 52 in Darbhanga, 46 in Jamui, 40 in Saran, 33 in Aurangabad, 33 in Kishanganj, 30 in Rohtas, 30 in Samastipur, 28 in Araria, 28 in West Champaran, 27 in East Champaran, 26 in Arwal, 26 in Banka, 23 in Munger, 22 in Siwan, 20 in Purnia, 17 in Buxar, 12 in Nawada, 9 in Kaimur, 9 in Sheikhpura, 7 in Lakhisarai, 7 in Sheohar, 6 in Khagaria, 5 in Madhepura, 4 in Gopalganj, 4 in Supaul, and 56 from outside Bihar, according to State Health Department figure.
Bihar has so far recorded 7,35,852 Covid-19 cases of which 7,15,262 patients have recovered including 342 in last 24 hours with the recovery rate (RR) standing at 97.20% on January 7, 2022, down from 97.56% on January 6, 2022. The state tested The state tested 1,84,750 samples on January 6, 2022.
