Patna : South Africa beat Zimbabwe by 120 runs in the 2nd ODI at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein, South Africa, on October 3, 2018, night, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series. Chasing a target of 199, Zimbabwe were all out for just 78 runs in 24 overs with captain Hamilton Masakadza scoring 27 and wicketkeeper Brendon Taylor 10. Donald Tiripano remained unbeaten on 12.
For South Africa, spinner Imran Tahir took 6/24 in 6 overs while Dale Styen took 2/19 in 6 overs. Lungi Ngidi and Andile Phehlukwayo took one wicket each.
Earlier, electing to bat after winnings the toss, South Africal were all out for 198 runs in 47,2 overs with fast bowlers Dale Styen and Andile Phehlukwayo scoring 60 and 28 runs respectively. For Styen, it was his first ODI fifty with 8 fours and a six. Opener Aiden Markram scored 35 with 6 fours. South Africa were 101/7 but thereafter Styen and Phehlukwayo stitched a 75 runĀ partnership to take the score to 198. Captain Jean-Paul Duminy was out for 5.
For Zimbabwe Tendai Chatara took 3/42. Kyle Jarvis, Donald Tiripano, and Brandon Mavuta took two wickets each while Sean Williams took one wicket.
